The motivation behind the founding of the Hardwood Distributors Association was to obtain recognition of wholesale hardwood distributing yards as an important segment within the lumber industry. The purpose of the Association today is to maintain this recognition and to protect and promote the interests of its members.
This website is a major portion of the communications of the association, with a role of providing go to information for all those interested in using hardwood products.
In addition, we provide information to the membership three times a year through our publication, The Yardstick. We also reach out to suppliers through advertising and to potential customers through the website.
The Hardwood Distributors Association holds an annual meeting in conjunction with the National Hardwood Lumber Association, providing educational programs, networking opportunities and social events.
Our annual meeting offers gatherings and programs with excellent opportunities for one on one and group networking. From our general membership meeting, educational programs, yard tours, to our social functions, you will have time to share ideas or problem solve with member firms. The benefit to problem solving with member firms that do not directly compete in your market, can save your company time and money!
We offer educational yard tours of member firms at our annual meeting in cities where yards are available.
HDA works hard to continually provide helpful educational programs to its members, as well as the public, through seminars, programs, printed information and cooperation with other associations.
